Bucharest is the capital of Romania and its biggest city, industrial and commercial centre. First mentioned in the historical archives in 1459, it becomes a capital in 1862. Since then, the city goes through continuous changes, being the centre of the artistic, cultural and mass-media scene. Between the two World Wars, its elegant architecture and cultural elite brought Bucharest the name of "Little Paris". Today, the capital has the same administrative structure as a county and it's divided in six sectors.
